
HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture (MOLCA) in Maiduguri, Nigeria was established in 1977. The institute is a pioneer College of Agriculture in the entire North Eastern Nigeria. It has produced a large number of agricultural officers who contributed immensely to the development of the agricultural sector of Borno State and the nation at large. The college was formally known as Borno College of Agriculture, and in 2004 it was named after Dr. Mohamet Lawan who was a renowned agriculturalist of national and international repute.
- Dr. Abba Makinta was appointed as Provost by Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum
- Dr. Abba Makinta renovated the admin block, which houses the Provost, the Deputy Provost, and the Registry. He also set up a committee to plant economic trees across the college.
- Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the rehabilitation of Mohammet Lawan College of Agriculture (MOLCA) Maiduguri with an additional N500 million in cash support.
- The Governor encouraged the development of bankable proposals in aquaculture, livestock, poultry, and rained and irrigated crop production.
